“Some things are just meant to be…”
This is certainly the case for JD. From age nine JD has been singing and playing his own songs in front of hundreds of people. Since 1999, he has taught music professionally to thousands of people, which is how he learned to teach beginners so successfully.
“You need to be passionate about what you do and I have two passions. The first is playing to people who enjoy my shows and the second is watching someone tell me how I helped them play music. You see them smile and their eyes light up because they’re so excited that they learned something new. It’s so rewarding to share something positive with people that makes them feel good about themselves.”
“…a broken leg halted his plans to tour the United States…”
Having two university qualifications, B.A. Popular Music & Grad Dip Ed in Music Teaching, JD set out to start his own music school as a broken leg halted his plans to tour the United States at the end of 2012.
“We all had a lot of fun with the school. We had concerts with a couple of hundred people made up of students’ family and friends. I watched every students’ self-confidence grow when they played in front of such a large crowd. I hope to replicate that sense of self-confidence with Easy Music Now when our students post videos of themselves playing on our Facebook page.”
“…a 30 minute lesson once a week isn’t enough…”
Doing a 30 minute lesson once a week isn’t enough time for most students to learn and grow as a musician. Most end up watching YouTube or other online videos to try and learn more. Problem is most people are posting videos that are too hard for beginners.
One day in 2017, an 11 year old student said, “JD, you should put your lessons online so I can keep learning when I go home.” It sounds simple, but that suggestion is what eventuated into Easy Music Now.
“It was like it was meant to be!”
“I couldn’t believe I hadn’t already thought of it. It was like it was meant to be! I consulted my business partner and we made plans to start recording in 2018 for the first ever online music school dedicated entirely for beginners. I’m so glad we did it cause now anyone can learn to play as it’s affordable and suitable for all ages. All you need to do is get hold of an instrument and start learning.”
Easy Music Now is planning to expand with schedules in place for JD to record more beginner programs with other popular instruments. Easy Music Now invites you to take advantage of their affordable online lessons giving you the opportunity to learn music whenever, wherever.
